I hope that everyone is having a good year so far. Now that March has begun so have some of this years Belly Dance events here in the Bay Area, so I thought I'd put together a post with some of the upcoming events that I'm looking forward to.
Clockwork Alchemy is a convention that celebrates all things Steampunk, and they also invite Belly Dancers to perform in the Carousel Club room on Saturday and Sunday. The performances are listed as the Caravan Tent in the Carousel Club. I will be dancing on Sunday and I'm looking forward to wandering around the event in the afternoon. Adira Dance & Costume hosts a free Hafla during the year on select Sundays that is always a lot of fun! The first event this year is on Sunday, May 3, 2019. Currently I'm on the schedule to perform at the August HaflAdira show, but it's possible that I may be performing with Swirl on another date TBD. The 9th Annual Bay Area Belly is happening on Sunday May 19, 2019 in Redwood City, CA. This is an independent Belly Dance show that's open to the general public, dancers and dance enthusiasts that would like to experience the enchanting atmosphere of dance and live music from the Middle East. I will be there enjoying the performances, the local vendors in the Bazar, as well as delicious food and drink sold at Angelica's. There is another Fall event that I always look forward but the date hasn't yet been announced.
